Christmas in SK
Okay, Chritmas here is wierd. First of all, not all of the country is Christian, so it's not as decked out as the U.S. Secondly, hearing Christmas music (sung in English) and seeing Christmas trees makes me feel rather lonely. Christmas Day is on Sunday, but I have to work on Monday, which sucks. It's basically going to be like just another day with the exception of opening presents. Not to mention it is freezing but it has only snowed once and it was only like an inch, which to Koreans is a lot I found out. Really though, it is very cold here.
Anyway, I got some presets from my parents yesterday in the mail. I am having a hard time looking at them every day and not opening them but I am trying to excercise some form of self control.
I went to see Harry Potter this week with 6 of my students whose English is not the best. It was really fun actually. Hanging out with students is a good time because they learn English in a natural setting that they actually enjoy; not to mention they don't even realize they are learning. It's so much more effective than being in the classroom.
My conversation class is getting ready to do a play that they wrote themselves. I also have a teaching demonstration this week in from of the district supervisor and a group of about 30 teachers. It's a rather stressful time, I am really busy.
On top of all that I am taking hip-hop class 3 times a week. It is really fun. I am getting private help from my hip-hop teacher and exchanging English and Korean with her.
Also, I just got a cell phone. All incoming calls are free so call me if you have a phone card! My number is: 010-3952-3033.
Well thats all for now. I realize that my blog has become quite boring because I am in a routine now. Sorry!
